I Am!

“I am he who lives, and was dead; and behold, I am alive forevermore, Amen.”
Revelation 1:18 (NKJV)

What more assurance do we want from God? We have assurance that He came for us, lived for us, died, was resurrected and is subsequently still alive for us for evermore! Wow! Just purely awesome!

We have a God who truly understands us and what we are going through. How, at times even though we start off meaning so well, things can turn out not so well in the short-term. Hebrews 4:15 tell us, “For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.” But His long-term plan is all good (Romans 8:28).

We have a God who from the beginning does not want to hurt us, but rather wants to give us hope as we read in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

A God who tells us and shows us repeatedly that He loves us with the yearly reminder each Spring Time of His ultimate sacrifice, His death for us. But He didn’t leave us there to be forever desolate and forever guilty. His perfect death, along with His perfect life, defeated our one true enemy— Satan the devil. He also left instructions in James 4:7, “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”

Father in heaven, we thank you that You sent us Someone to whom we could relate. Born out of wedlock, behaviour misunderstood, and One who suffered trials and testing, yet overcame. Help us to remember this and to be able to find true encouragement and comfort in knowing this as we continue to fight the good fight and claim our crown. In Jesus’ name we pray.

A nice neat, sincere study and timely reminder Jackee, of our Lord and Saviour, whose death and resurrection we will be celebrating shortly. What an amazing God of love and compassion we serve!Thank you for this contribution this morning.
