“I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken for He is right beside me.”
Psalm 16:8 (NLT)

Can we also say this? Are we fully convinced that God has called us and has a plan for each of our lives?  Jesus said of His Father, “I do always those things that please Him” (John 8:29). Can we say this, too?  As we look back over the past year and forward in this New Year, we can always consider God’s faithfulness to us and our faithfulness to Him.

We can always pray.  Ephesians 6:18 tells us “Pray in the Spirit at all times [always] and on every occasion.” We don’t necessarily have to isolate ourselves from others in order to pray; we can pray any time, any where, and we should give thanks in all circumstances. “Giving thanks always for all things…” (Ephesians 5:20). For parents, for husbands, wives, children, food and clothing, etc; but especially for Jesus who gave His all for us.

We can always speak of God and His love and His Way to others.  “And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it. But do this in a gentle and respectful way” (1 Peter 3:15-16). “Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how you ought to answer every man” (Colossians 4:6, KJV).

We can always stick to our Christian walk.  1 Thessalonians 5:15 tells us: “Always try to do good to each other and to all people. “Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus” (verse 16 NLT).

We can always rejoice.  The Apostle Paul says: “Whatever happens, my dear brothers and sisters, rejoice in the Lord. I never get tired of telling you these things and I do it to safeguard your faith” (Philippians 3:1). “Always be full of joy in the Lord. I say it again, rejoice” (Philippians 4:4, NLT).

Father, please help us always to remain faithful and to press on so we can receive the crown of life.
