From Heaven With Love

“All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:”
2 Corinthians 5:18 (NIV)

The context of this verse tells us we are a new creation in Christ and made ambassadors for Jesus Christ to plead and implore others, who are not yet reconciled to God, on his behalf. Reconciliation is very important. It simply means to be at peace with the Creator of the universe and walk in harmony with Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit given to us as a gift from God.

To reconcile is to patch up the differences between two parties and then live in harmony. Reconciliation is sorely needed in our disunited families where husbands and wives are at variance; where parents and children do not see eye to eye; people erecting communication barriers because they do not listen to each other.  Neighbours are at loggerheads, and even friends quarrel and become hostile to each other.

We see nations are at each others throats, threatening to blot out each other from the face of the earth by means of their nuclear arsenal and chemical agents. Thankfully, we read in Romans 5:6-11 that while we were still sinners, and enemies of God, we were reconciled to the Father through the death of His beloved Son and are saved by His life.  Because “God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” (John 3:16-17)

But I have got a solution, although it is not mine really—it is of Christ, who offers it to everyone if we listen to Him, who says, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and love your neighbour as you love your self.” (Galatians 5:14)

It is so simple, but mankind has rejected it and we have ignored it to our own hurt. As a minister of reconciliation, I implore all people to heed the message of Jesus Christ, the Saviour. It is a message of hope because God doesn’t want anyone to perish in their sins. No matter how vile or evil or horrendous they may be, God promises to remove all our sins as far as east is from the west. (Psalm 103:12)

All that is needed is to accept the Lord Jesus Christ as our personal Saviour. He shed his precious blood for us to be reconciled to God. Don’t wait or hesitate because we can begin to enjoy from today all the wonderful benefits God wants to give to all mankind.

Prayer
Thank you, Father, for the gift and ministry of reconciliation. Help us to live it so people will see it and come to your Son, in whose name we pray.
Amen
