Today God Gave Me…

The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”
Matthew 25:40 (NIV)

Since being diagnosed with cancer I have realised that God has been sending me love notes, cards, flowers, hugs and kisses, chocolates, text messages, emails, as well as birds, sunrises and sunsets, rainbows, smiles and so much more. He’s given me gifts of parking spaces and calendars. He’s shared a laugh with me, and good news. He’s even unexpectedly dropped by for a visit and He provides help for my fears.

It’s been amazing and sometimes tear-inducing as I open cards with His love included; as I open the door to bunches of flowers with His love on the card; as I see Him smiling as He shares His birds with me; as He makes me laugh by sending me funny socks with individually knitted toes; etc.

How does our invisible God do all this? He uses His people as delivery men and women to get His love to me in all the ways mentioned above.  He also answers my prayers, sends His people to visit, to encourage, to reassure, as well as providing necessary things such as hospital parking spaces. Every day He’s talking to me, laughing with me, hugging me etc. And because so many of you have so kindly responded to His promptings to pass this love on to me, I say a great big THANK YOU.  And I thank God for you as you have been His hands, His arms, His words, His hugs etc. All of me cries out THANK YOU.

Over the years I have supported others but now others have supported me. Though not necessarily the same others, as some have died or moved on and are not aware of my health challenge. But still, it is the healthy cycle of fellowship whether with family or friends, spiritual or physical. Don’t give up on fellowshipping.

ear Father, dear Jesus, thank You for reminding me, through Your people, of Your presence, Your love etc. May I always see the good things in life as coming to me personally from You. Again thank You. I love You too.

    Hello Ruth
This is a very powerful article on fellowship – and on how God works through other Christians to minister to us. Your personal experience has given me a better insight into fellowship – thank you for taking the time to share this with us.
    God Bless
