God Is On Our Side

“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”
Romans 8:31 (NKJV)

God is on our side, and if He is for us, it does not matter who is against us.
*The giants may be big, but God is bigger.  King David realized this when he faced Goliath.
*We may have weaknesses, but God has strength.  Psalm 61:3 calls God ‘A strong tower’.
*We may have sin in our life, but God has grace.  (Ephesians 2:5)
*We may fail, but God remains faithful.  Psalm 89:8 reminds of this when it says, “O Lord God of hosts, Who is mighty like You, O Lord?  Your faithfulness also surrounds You.”

We who are followers of Jesus have God living in us through the power of the Holy Spirit and He is bigger than any problem we may have to face! “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” says Philippians 4:13.  And continuing on in Romans 8, verse 35 asks, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?  Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?”  and answers in verses 38-39, “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of god which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”  For, “in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” (verse 37)

We are not alone.  We can always call out to God for His help in our time of need.  We need not fear the future, for our God is always there and He will take care of us all when we put our trust in Him!  As it says in Hebrews 13:5. “ I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

What a wonderful promise that is!!

Father God, help us all to realize that when we belong to Jesus You are on our side and that You will take care of us in this life and in eternity.
