God Hears

“Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.”
Isaiah 65:24 (NIV)

Have you ever been in a crowded room struggling to hear as you attempt to have a conversation? This can be frustrating because the other person is probably finding it difficult to hear you also.  But, you know, God has no problem hearing us and all the billions of people who cry out to him daily.

The Psalmist tells us, “I love the Lord, because He hears and answers my prayers. Because He bends down and listens, I will pray as long as I have breath! (Psalm 116:1-2 NLT)  God bends low to hear our whispered prayers and our silent prayers.  He delights in us as we come to him with praise, worship and requests.  And of course, Paul tells us that the Holy Spirit has a special role to play in those prayers.  God’s Spirit is right alongside us helping us along.  Romans 8:26-27 (MSG) encourages us with, “If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves.”

So, if we feel that our voices are drowned out by the noises around us or perhaps by others in deeper need, we need to realise that even our tiniest whisper or our deepest groan is taken to God’s throne by the Spirit and made known to our Father! Nothing escapes his attentive ear because he is rich in mercy and He has the power to hear us above the clamour of the world.

Take him at his word and call out to him today—it could change your life!

Prayer
Thank you, gracious Father, for your faithfulness and love, and for the fact that even when we pray jumbled prayers your Spirit translates those groans and sighs to you with understanding and you hear us.
Amen

Thank you. This is just what I needed at this difficult time. Sometimes you wonder if your prayers even reach God and why the difficulties escalate instead of going away no matter how much you call on Him for help.
