Tie A Yellow Ribbon

“And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.”
Luke 15:20 (NKJV)

I am sure that many of us can remember the song Tie a Yellow Ribbon ‘Round the Old Oak Tree. The true story about that song is that a man who had spent a long time in prison was due to be released. He wrote a letter to his wife saying, “I have let you and our family down.  I have made many foolish mistakes.  If you want to take me back, tie a yellow ribbon around the old oak tree.”

When the man got to his home, there was not one yellow ribbon around the old oak tree, there were ONE HUNDRED!! The man ran into the house and his wife welcomed him back home.

When we slip and fall, as we all do at times, when we arise and go to our Heavenly Father, He will always have compassion on us and will never turn us away!

All we have to do is to keep our eyes on Jesus and, as it says in Philippians 3:14, “press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

Father in Heaven, help us to realize that we are your beloved children and that you will never stop loving us.
