Jesus – The Greatest Salesman?

“Pray that I may proclaim it clearly as I should.”
Colossians 4:4 (NIV)

“If you have been satisfied with my service tell your friends,” said the washing machine repair man as he packed away his tools.  He’d been friendly and efficient and I would be happy to recommend him.  As I thought about it I realised he had wisdom.  He knew that ‘word of mouth’ was the best form of advertising.

Long before the washing machine repair man was born, Jesus also used this method of advertising.  In Matthew 28:19-20 he instructed his disciples, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.”  Jesus depended on 12 men and word of mouth to reach the world.

Are you satisfied with Jesus’ service?  Are you going to recommend Him?  If you become a sales rep for Jesus you will be joining a great company.  Although the sales pitch hasn’t changed in 2,000 years, the wages are everlasting!

Dear Father in Heaven. open our mouths that we may proclaim your gospel clearly, as we should.
