Redeemed by the Blood of Christ

“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.”
Ephesians 1:7 (NKJV)

We are indeed redeemed by the precious blood of the Lamb of God, without blemish and without spots, as was foreordained before the foundation of this world (1 Peter 1:18-20).

The sprinkling of blood before the Holy of Holies was a process in the Old Testament by which sin and Israel were covered temporarily till the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, which was once and for all. Christ Himself entered the Most Holy Place and obtained eternal redemption (Hebrews 9:11-15). It is not simply the death of Christ on the cross, but also His blood that was poured out to wash away our sins as we read in Revelation 1:5. 1 John 1:7 says, “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.”

We who were once far off have been made near by the blood of Christ (Ephesians 2:13). We are privileged to enter the holiest by the blood of Jesus and come boldly into the presence of God (Hebrews 10:19-22).

We thank you and praise you, our Lord God Almighty, our Father in Heaven, who prepared the Lamb of God, slain before the foundation of the world, Jesus Christ, your beloved Son, whose blood redeems us from our sins.
