God On-Line

“On that day you will realise that I am in my Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.”
John 14:20 (NIV)

The other day I was watching a “Speaking of Life” video from the GCI website. My little boy came running up and said, “Hey daddy, it’s God.” I had to explain that Dr Joseph Tkach was not God but he was talking about God. My wife and I thought it was funny, but it got me thinking – Christ dwells in us by his Spirit, so in a sense my little boy was right – God was on the computer.

1John 4:16 says, “God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.”

Over the past couple of years, we’ve witnessed the love of God in action, with the rescue and aid efforts in Haiti, Japan, Pakistan and elsewhere, when there is a natural disaster. God’s love is in evidence all round the world, every time there is a loving, kind and charitable action helping someone both physically and spiritually.

Jesus didn’t just live and die. He rose and ascended, and His Spirit returned at Pentecost to live in and through his followers. Our job is to follow the lead of His Spirit and show the love of God to all those we come in contact with. In this way people will see Christ’s continued work on earth today.

Dear God, please help us take part in your work on earth today. Help us to show your love to all we come into contact with at home, work, school, the pub, or wherever we find ourselves. In Jesus name.
