Nothing Can Separate Us From God’s Love

“What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?”
Romans 8:31-32 (NLT)

God loves all of us and, as he is in charge of the entire universe and is the ultimate authority, nothing can drag us away from God’s purpose for us. God’s will for us will be completed in us despite trials, temptations and circumstances, as we read in Philippians 1:6, “And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”

God’s love for us is assured. Romans 8:35 and 37 continues with, “Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?…..No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.”

James 4:7-8 says that even the Devil will flee from us if we stay close to God, and we find in 1 Corinthians 10:13 that God will not allow us to suffer a trial or temptation that we cannot handle.

We can have absolute confidence in God’s love.

Loving Heavenly Father, thank you that our salvation is assured and that you will not allow us to go through anything we cannot handle together.
