It’s About Time

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
Galatians 2:20 (NKJV)

Our life is made out of time. Ecclesiastes 3 speaks much of time and concludes that there is a time for every purpose and work. Husbands have a duty to give of their time to their wives, and couples or single parents have a responsibility to give of their time to their children.

As members of the church we have a duty to give of our time to the Church. We give time by praying for our fellow Christian brothers and sisters, by attending Church services and fellowshipping with one another.

Ephesians 5:16 speaks of “…redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” Although we can’t buy back time wasted, we can try to use our time wisely in the future. We read in Romans 12:1 that we should present ourselves as a living sacrifice—sacrifice your time—serve God and other human beings. As it says in Hebrews 13:15-16, “…let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name. But do not forget to do good and to share: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”

As Christians, Christ lives in us and as He gave His time for us, we should give thought as to how we use our time.

Eternal God, we ask that you help us in sacrificing of our time in serving you and others.
