God’s Companion

“For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him”

Colossians 1:16 (NIV)

For thousands of years human beings have asked and wondered, what is the purpose of life?  Why are we here?  Do you ever wonder as to why you were born?

The Bible clearly shows us that we were created by Christ and most importantly, for Him. We were created for the purpose of being in a personal relationship with the Son of God, to share His life. There is no greater purpose or meaning in life. It is the sole reason why we are here, the purpose for which we have been created.

We are happiest when we are living in harmony with this purpose. If we are not living in harmony with the reason for our being, then many things and activities will seek to fill the void, but they can never satisfy the spiritual hunger we all experience.

John 15:13-14 tells us, “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command.” As God’s friend and companion, you will also share in His glory, as we read in 1 Peter 4:13,  “But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when His glory is revealed.”

Thank you Father, for giving my life real purpose and meaning. Help me to live in harmony with the reason for which you created me, to be a friend and companion of Jesus.
