Thy Kingdom Come!

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
Matthew 6:9-10 (NKJV)

Why I am compelled to write this Day by Day? Today, Wednesday 16th, September I opened Aljazeera news hour TV channel, and this is what I saw and heard. It started with the news of wild fires in the western region of U.S.A., in California, Washington and Oregon states, rampaging and burning to ashes every thing in their path. Oregon is declared as a disaster zone. For many, homes, properties and precious possession have been reduced to ashes, and the people are dazed and cannot express their grief. And still fires are furiously burning with ferocity that even well trained firemen are unable to tackle or control. Also there is loss of lives and millions of acres of land destroyed.

On the eastern coast in the U.S.A., hurricane Sally is on a path of destruction causing incalculable damage to homes and properties with winds blowing at 100mph, flooding many areas with torrential rainfall and traveling slowly inland toward North Carolina, having affected South Alabama, Louisiana and west coast of Florida. Many people had to evacuate their homes for shelter. It is a great tragedy. I then saw a horrible scenario in Sudan drenched with weeks of rain causing the River Nile to overflow destroying thousands of homes and an emergency disaster is declared. It was painful to watch people wading through their flooded homes trying to salvage a few possessions.

Then there is the spectre of the Corona Virus bringing many nations to their knees, creating chaos and enforced lockdown in many countries in an attempt to slow it down. Universities and schools have been closed or partially opened, depending on the spread of the virus which has taken many lives already worldwide and no end in sight.  Diligent effort is being made by many nations to find an effective vaccine.

There is much despair. I may add, we are living in perilous times. The bleak picture of the financial situation is frightening. Within less than an hour, I was saturated with the sobering heart-wrenching condition on this beautiful planet earth. Humanity is responsible for corrupting our planet with carelessness on our part, causing global warming and pollution of the air we breath, the water we drink, and the food we eat. And even worst, we have polluted our minds filled with hatred toward each other. Nations do not trust each other. My heart is kindled with fire and is unquenchable seeing such suffering and horror unprecedented in this present evil world. That is why I pray that you will join with me to make supplication to our God and Lord Jesus, “Your Kingdom come, Your will be done and bring peace on this earth quickly.”

Our Father, I know many Christians are already praying for Your intervention and I hope many will join me in crying out with all our hearts for Your Kingdom to come and Your will to be done on this earth as it is in heaven. In the holy name of Jesus Christ our Saviour we make this plea.

Hello Natu, Thank you for your day by day. The news is mainly about the West . Many of those disasters are caused by neglect or mismanagement. I prefer to watch the alternative news where we hear of the real manmade disasters such as the murder of thousands of Christians in pagan countries. There is also the murder of the yet unborn in the so called Christian countries who should know better.
Should we be surprised that the whole world is suffering. Perhaps the behaviour described in Rom 1 coupled with DUETERONOMY 28 :14 to the end may have something to do with the problems in the world to day. Yes we need His kingdom to come. blessings in Jesus Christ. John

Got something to say?
