Neither Jew nor Greek

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male and female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
Galatians 3:28 (NKJV)

Sonship and daughter-ship is not by race (as Paul noted above), class or gender, but identity in Jesus trumps all other conditions—be it nationality, gender, or station in life. And as we are one in Jesus, united in him we can then rightly celebrate the diversity that we see in the wide array of people that make up the human race.

GCI currently has congregations and members in over 90 countries and our overseas membership actually outnumbers our US membership. We count this international connection as one of our greatest organisational strengths.

The Day by Day which appears on Sundays has for the past ten years mainly been taken from Speaking of Life, which is a weekly video presented by the President of Grace Communion International (https://www.gci.org/videos). In our celebration of diversity in GCI, we are adding presenters to Speaking of Life. So it will not just be myself as President of GCI presenting this resource, but we will include an assortment of other voices that will make our programme richer and provide a better representation of who we are in GCI. The new presenters are: Michelle Fleming, the Director over Media for GCI; Jeff Broadnax, who oversees Generations Ministries; Heber Ticas, who is the Superintendent of our Latin American churches; and Anthony Mullins, the National Co-ordinator of our Intern and Pastoral Residents Programme.

This diverse group are all involved in development and new innovations for GCI and I believe that you will enjoy hearing the lessons and stories that they will be bringing. It is our hope that these innovations will also better reflect the diversity and unity in GCI through this outreach by GCI in the UK.

Gracious Father, as time moves along and changes come and go, we recognise that development and progress mark the human aspect of your work. We ask for your blessing on the new generation, as you blessed the previous one. In Jesus’ name we pray.
