Data Protection

“‘Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?’ Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it, You shall love your neighbour as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.’”
Matthew 22:36-40 (NKJV)

In this present society, problems facing people today include data fraud or theft. Some human governments try to reduce this threat by making laws intended to protect the citizen. There may be tons of paper documents addressing the problem of data protection and many terabytes of computer storage dealing with this topic. The cost in time and money must be considerable.

Some human governments consider themselves exempt from laws prohibiting the misuse of personal information, but they seem to be ignorant of the fact that The Eternal God is sovereign and raises up rulers and removes them when it seems good to Him. These human rulers seem to be unaware that NOTHING is hidden from the only true God YHVH who has His own agents monitoring things down here. See Daniel 5:18-21.

Some two millennia ago, Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus the Christ, gave the Golden Rule—THE solution to the problem of data protection, in Matthew 7:12, repeated in Luke 6:31, i.e.And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.” Sixteen simple words encapsulating love towards neighbour and transcending all man-made laws. Questioned about the great commandment (see header scripture), Jesus stated the great commandment quoting from Deuteronomy 6:4-5 followed by “You shall love your neighbour as yourself” (see also Leviticus 19:18) seven words, further condensing the Golden Rule. Contrast that with all mankind’s paper and computer stored ideas!

Today humanity ignores God’s laws, but after Christ returns and establishes the Kingdom of God in its fullness with Satan bound, people will seek God and His ways, prophesied in Isaiah 2:1-4. Hebrews 10:16 tells us that God will write His laws in hearts and minds, and better still, God will indwell His people through the Holy Spirit. Come Lord Jesus!

Matthew 6:9-10, “Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven”—How long, Father, how long before You send Jesus back? In Jesus’ name.
