But God Has Healed Me

“O Lord my God, I cried out to You, And You healed me.”
Psalm 30:2 (NKJV)

Ruth Edwards, a regular contributor to Day by Day for many years, died two years ago. Before she died, she wrote this, which was found a little later. We publish it now in the hope that it will give hope and encouragement to those who have recently lost a loved one.

God has healed me, he’s healed the part which is important, and which will go on into everlasting life—my heart and soul.

Yes the cancer will kill off this physical body but that’s all it can kill, and this physical body was only ever a temporary place for my heart/soul/mind to live in. By the way, I don’t like the commonly used phrase, ‘battling against cancer.’ The correct terminology in my opinion is, ‘I lived with cancer,’ and as I didn’t battle it, I didn’t lose any battles to it!

When we meet again, you and I, as I believe we will, you’ll recognise me and I will recognise you as our physical bodies will be transformed into spiritual ones (1 Corinthians 15:35-49). I look forward to seeing you all then, as well as those who are already asleep waiting for the resurrection.

I’m off to sleep shortly—I don’t know how long for but I do know it will be worth it because THE BEST IS YET TO COME!!, and, there will be no end to that wonderful and glorious day.

All glory to God for what he has done, is doing, and will do in and through Jesus, my Lord, my God, my Saviour, and my Friend.

Father help us all to comprehend that this life is only the preparation for the next life, and that the BEST IS YET TO COME!!
