Microscopic View Of Life

“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.”
Genesis 2:7 (NKJV)

What is human life? There was a time when human life did not exist. Only God existed from eternity to eternity. He is Spirit and is not confined by space or limited by time. Life comes from life and is a great miracle. We are fearfully and wonderfully made. There is a physical life which is temporary and there is a spiritual life which is everlasting. God has revealed the purpose of life and our destiny in His Word, the manual for life (2 Timothy 3:16-17). I know I did not exist and will cease to exist, but I believe I am a child of God through His grace and salvation is a free gift of God.

Our human father, Adam, incurred the death penalty for all mankind, however, God our Father has reconciled us to Himself through the sacrifice of His Son and given us new life in Christ (Romans 5: 6-11). It is life eternal in Christ Jesus and John 5:24 confirms it, saying “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.” Our Saviour came and died for all mankind to save those who would believe in Him.

I do not know, nor can I describe, the eternal life in glory; but I know that I will see Jesus my Redeemer in His glory. It will be glorious as we read in 1 Corinthians 2:9, “As it is written: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” Yes! The ultimate purpose of life is to glorify God and enjoy life everlasting in His presence. He created us for His honour and glory and shows us the path of life (Revelation 4:11 and Psalm 16:11).

I cannot help but sing lines from a hymn that says life is worth the living just because my Saviour lives. There is so much one can write about the life we have as human beings, but life everlasting is beyond our comprehension.

Prayer
Omnipotent, Omnipresent, Omniscient God, our Father in heaven, the Life-Giver and Sustainer of all things, worthy of worship, praise and honour. I thank You for giving us life and assurance of eternal life through Your Son Jesus Christ. I love You and pray in Jesus name.
Amen
