“I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do.”
John 17:4 (NKJV)

Dependability is a corner stone to any strong relationship. In marriage, it is a key factor to its success – as each person needs to know that they can depend on the other to stand by them no matter what may happen in the future!

It also applies to every area of our life. When we build dependability into our lives it enables us to build stronger relationships with others, and we will be given more opportunities to serve them because they will know that they can depend on us!

Noah was a man whom God could depend on. Read Genesis 6 and notice in verse 22 that Noah did all that God commanded him to do. There was a lot of work involved in order to get all the materials that Noah would need to build the ark. The ark was roughly 450 feet long, 75 feet wide and 45 feet high, with a capacity exceeding that of 500 railroad stock cars. The barge-like shape of the ark made it difficult to capsize. It took Noah and his family a long time to build the ark, but they did not give up. They kept going until the job was finished! This is a fine example to all of us.

Can God depend on you and me? Jesus is always dependable and we should all be following His example. In Matthew 16:24 Jesus said to His disciples, if anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.

Let us all aim to be people who are dependable in every area of our lives.

Father, God, thank you for always being dependable. Please help us all to become more like You.
