How To Be Happy

“If you know these things, you will be happy if you do them.”
John 13:17 (NLV)

The more that we seek to serve God and serve others in all that we think, say and do, the happier we will be. We all need to take care of ourselves physically and spiritually so that we are able to serve others better. Our mind controls our brain and our emotions. When we think positive and happy thoughts these are transmitted to our brain and the brain then sends messages which affect our emotions !

It is very important that we always remember if we want to be happy we have to control our thoughts! That is why God tells us to set our minds on the things that are above as we find in Colossians 3:1-2 (NKJV); “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on the things of the earth.”

This is impossible to do through our own strength but it is possible when we depend on Jesus to live His life though us. “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 2:5 NKJV) Jesus Christ came to serve others and when He lives His life through us He will enable us to serve others better. We all slip at times, for we are now in the process of growing to be like Jesus Christ. Jesus will always lift us up when we fall, He will never give up on us! What wonderful news that is!

Galatians 2:16 (NKJV) says, “knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, for by the works of the law no flesh shall be justified.” When we depend on Jesus and on what He has done for us there is no need to fear for all our needs physically and spiritually will be supplied! When we depend on Jesus there is nothing that can defeat us in this life and when this life is ended we will be with Jesus for evermore!!!

Prayer
Father God, help us all to realize that that the more we serve others the happier we will be.
Amen
