The X Factor

“Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.”
1 Corinthians 9:24-25 (NKJV)

The popular television show, The X Factor, is now viewed by millions of people around the world!  Along with its funny moments, the competition has a serious side—that of producing singers who have this mysterious ‘X Factor’, and who can potentially sell millions of records. Sadly, only one person or group can win this coveted prize. Everyone else has to be sent home.

Thankfully, our Creator God is not running a competition to select only one winner!  He is in the business of making winners out of all who come to him in faith. John 3:16-17 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”  Even the repentant thief on the cross became a winner when Jesus said to him, “Today you shall be with me in Paradise.” (Luke 23:43)

This eternal prize can be yours also if you accept God’s Son, Jesus, into your life today.

Will you accept this amazing challenge?

Prayer
Eternal Life is not a competition, Father in Heaven, but a gift to all who believe.  We run in this race of life for an imperishable crown which is ours through your Son, Jesus Christ.
Amen
