Every Single Hair On Your Head Is Numbered

“But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.”
Matthew 10:30 (NKJV)

While sitting in a barber’s shop awaiting my turn for a hair cut, I began to wonder, how many hairs are there on my head? How long would it take to count them? Thus I mused and pondered over it.

The Bible has much to say about hair. God says in Luke 21:17-18, “You will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But not a hair of your head shall be lost” that is, without His awareness. Such is our great God, Omnipresent, Omniscient and Omnipotent, taking care of each person with the minutest detail of every hair on our heads. Praise be to God Almighty.

God has put a great price to your hair. The Bible reveals that silver hair on an old righteous man, is a crown of glory to him (Proverbs 16:31).  What strikes me most is that our Sovereign, Eternal God has shown His love so deeply that He knows the number of hairs on our head. And He has made us joint heirs with Jesus Christ His Son, whose hair is described as like wool, as white as snow. How thoughtfully God, who is the Perfect Divine Designer has created all things in His marvellous wisdom and understanding, including the hair on our heads. Worthy is our Father in heaven to be worshipped, to whom belongs kingdom, power, glory and Majesty and everlasting praise.

In my teenage years I was very proud of my hair, kept well trimmed and I always carried a small comb in my pocket. I would be lost without it and by habit I carry a comb in my jacket, even now, in my old age, but humbly I thank God for the greying hair on my head. When a hair falls from my head I may not be aware that it has fallen, but I am aware that it has not fallen without the awareness of our loving Father.

Prayer
Abba Father, I praise and give thanks to You for taking care of every little aspect of our lives. In Jesus name I pray and adore You, love You and stand in awe in Your Holy Presence.
Amen
