nice, short piece Stuart, got my attention and appealed to me as a hands on sort of person. I can imagine how the very real feel of those heavy rough nails would evoke strong reflections on the time of year you mention. Thanks, I miss your warm smile and encouraging manner but it seems to come through in this article. keep it up, it's quite effective it seems to me.
How fixed and determined is our Saviours love and zeal for us all!
Sure does make you thankfull.

Not keen on the penultimate paragraph! It reeks of esotericism: "lost knowledge".

day by day - January 3rd 2010 - Jesus Is Coming

Absolutely superb, the best exegesis of the Gadarene demoniac I have ever encountered.

My oldest WCG / GCI friend, Roger Clark, Northampton UK Pastor recommended day by day on New Year's Day.

I am being challenged anew by our Dad and Brother. And uplifted. My demons are many. Life is grim and I am weak. I fail in my daily conversation, I seek to start anew, afresh today. And EVERY day.

Thank you Jo. Jesus. Dad.

Hello James
Thank-you very much for today's Day by Day. Your article has greatly inspired me. In just a short article, you have summed up all the concerns that Christmas generates - but you also tell of the great Hope that comes from our Saviour's birth. And Hope wins!
A great article. Thank-you again.

Many thanks for this article! A very clear explanation of the difference between Universalism and Salvation through Christ. Very useful for me - and I'm sure it will be useful to others.
Thanks again

Rudyard Kipling's poem `IF` sprung to mind while reading today's study about overcoming mistakes and failures in life. No one need ever be a failure if these positive points are applied with God's help.
An interesting thought: When the world throws `lemons at you`--turn them into lemonade!! Thanks for the study, Fraser.

I don't know who the above, but does it actually explain why God inspired Paul to write that Christians should not commend themselves or compare themselves with other Christians? I would have thought that the writer would explain, from the bible, why it is wrong to commend oneself or compare oneself with others, rather than saying everyone is unique.

If you intend to post a regular thought for the day that will inspire God's people to walk in the light of his truth, then, please let it be from the bible, and not from human reasoning.
